A fleet spread across five councils
Greater Nottingham isn't one place administratively. Arnold and Carlton sit in Gedling, Beeston and Stapleford in Broxtowe, West Bridgford in Rushcliffe and Hucknall in Ashfield, all round the city itself. A business with vans parked in Beeston, a couple of HGVs at a yard in Carlton and a minibus kept in West Bridgford has vehicles in three different districts and a calendar full of service and inspection dates. A fleet maintenance contract takes that calendar off your desk and gives it to one team.
What the agreement covers
The scope is agreed with you, but most contracts bring together servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, PMI safety inspections at the intervals on your operator licence with brake performance tested every time, preparation for each annual test, mobile repairs at your premises for defects drivers find on their walkaround checks, and breakdown and recovery at any hour. Planned work happens at our workshop at Melbourne or at your own site, depending on which keeps the vehicle earning.
Familiar faces at two in the morning
Under a contract, the technicians who service your vehicles are the same ones who come out when one stops on the A52 in the middle of the night. They know the vehicle's history, so a fault that keeps coming back is spotted and fixed properly rather than patched again on the hard shoulder.
Paperwork that holds up
DVSA expects operators to keep proper maintenance records and to stick to their inspection intervals. With inspections planned ahead and every defect recorded alongside what was done about it, the records are ready whenever they are asked for, and that protects both your OCRS score and your operator licence.
Mixed fleets, one contract
The agreement doesn't have to stop at HGVs. Trailers, coaches, minibuses, vans and light commercials, and specialist vehicles including emergency-service vehicles, can sit under the same contract. It suits hauliers with a handful of trucks, coach and minibus operators, businesses running a mix of vans and HGVs, and anyone who has been caught out by a missed inspection or a breakdown that a service would have prevented.
How the routine runs
We plan every vehicle's services and inspections in advance. Vehicles come to us or we go to them. Defects found at inspection or on walkaround checks are fixed and written up. Breakdowns go to 01332 916028 and to people who already know your fleet. Each visit is recorded for your maintenance files.
Moving from another provider
Switching doesn't have to cause disruption. Tell us when each vehicle is next due for inspection and service, share recent inspection records if you have them, and we take over the schedule from there with nothing missed. To talk it through, ring 01332 916028 with the number and type of vehicles you run and where in Nottingham they are based. Fleet customers are set up on account.
