Burton upon Trent's commercial traffic comes from a wide mix of businesses. Warehouse operators and carriers run units and trailers in and out of the town and nearby Fradley Park, the breweries move their own products, and bus services run out to Derby, Tutbury, Uttoxeter, Lichfield and Tamworth, with most of the school runs handled by one of those operators. Behind each of them sits someone juggling service dates, PMI intervals and the question of who to call at three in the morning.
What a contract hands over
A maintenance contract gives that job to one team. We agree the scope with you, and most contracts bring together servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, PMIs at the intervals on your operator licence with brake performance assessed each time, preparation for the annual test, mobile repairs for defects found on walkaround checks, and the 24/7 breakdown and recovery line. The calendar is planned ahead for every vehicle, so a missed inspection stops being a risk you carry.
Workshop days and yard visits
Planned work is split between our workshop at Calke Mill Farm in Melbourne, reached via the A38 and the A50, and visits to your own site in Burton, whichever keeps vehicles earning. A trailer with a lamp out does not need to leave the yard. A unit due its service and PMI together can come over to us for the day.
The same people at any hour
When one of your vehicles stops on the A38 at night, the call goes to people who already know its history. That speeds up diagnosis, and it means a fault returning for the third time is recognised and dealt with properly rather than patched again.
Records that stand up
DVSA expects operators to keep to their inspection intervals and to hold proper records of what was found and done. On a contract, every visit is written up for your maintenance files, defects are logged with their repairs, and the paperwork is ready when you need it, which protects your OCRS score and the licence behind it.
One agreement for a mixed fleet
There is no need to split coaches from trucks or vans from trailers. HGVs, trailers, coaches, minibuses, vans and light commercials can all sit under the same agreement, as can specialist and emergency-service vehicles.
Moving across
If you already use another provider, tell us when each vehicle is next due and share your recent inspection records, and we will pick up the schedule without a gap. Ring 01332 916028 with what you run, how many vehicles there are and how you handle maintenance now, and we will put a plan together. Fleet customers are set up on account.
