Castle Donington is surrounded by freight. East Midlands Airport, close to the village, is the largest airport in the UK for freight and cargo carried outside passenger planes, and an express parcels company has a base there. The site of the old coal-fired power station is now the East Midlands Distribution Centre, a large retail distribution hub with a railhead of its own. Immediately north of the airport, the East Midlands Gateway logistics park covers 700 acres, with a rail freight terminal and road access from junction 24 of the M1.
All of that puts a great many lorries, trailers and vans on the roads between the warehouses, the airport, the rail terminals and the motorway. Trucktec Assist 24 covers them on the A50, which runs with the M1 as far as junctions 24 and 24A near Kegworth, at the A50 junction for the B6540 that signs Castle Donington, Hemington, Lockington and Shardlow, and on the A453. Breakdowns go to 01332 916028 at any hour. We repair at the roadside first and recover when that isn't safe or possible.
Planned servicing, PMI inspections, brake testing, diagnostics and curtain and welding repairs are carried out at our workshop at Calke Mill Farm, Ashby Road, Melbourne, Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:00, and our mobile technicians can fix many faults in your yard. Coaches and minibuses are covered too, which counts for a lot in a village that hosts Donington Park circuit and the UK's second largest festival.
