Fleets with little spare time
Castle Donington's economy leans heavily on freight. The airport site is described as an important economic centre and a major employer in the area, and between it, East Midlands Gateway and the East Midlands Distribution Centre there are many operators who need their vehicles available as much as possible. For a fleet like that, maintenance is less about finding a garage and more about finding time: every day a unit spends in for work is a day it isn't moving freight. A maintenance contract is how we help operators plan that time rather than lose it to breakdowns.
What goes into the agreement
The scope is agreed fleet by fleet. Typically it combines servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, PMI safety inspections at the intervals on your operator licence with brake performance checked every time, preparation for each annual test, mobile repairs for defects found on walkaround checks, and breakdown cover. Planned work is split between our workshop at Calke Mill Farm, Ashby Road, Melbourne and visits to your site, whichever keeps vehicles earning. A trailer with a lamp out can be fixed in the yard at the Gateway; a unit due both its inspection and its service comes to the workshop once for the pair.
One number, one team
When a vehicle stops on the M1 near junction 24, or a trailer won't release in a yard at the distribution centre, you ring 01332 916028 and speak to the people who already maintain it. They know its history, which means a recurring fault gets traced to its cause rather than patched for the third time.
Records ready for DVSA
DVSA expects operators to keep to their inspection intervals and hold proper maintenance records. On a contract, inspections are planned in advance, every defect is written up with what was done about it, and the paperwork is there when it is asked for, which protects your OCRS score and your licence.
Moving across
Tell us when each vehicle and trailer is next due and share your recent inspection records, and we will pick up the schedule from there with no gap. Mixed fleets of HGVs, trailers, coaches, minibuses and vans can all sit under one agreement, and fleet customers are set up on account. Ring 01332 916028 to talk through what you run around Castle Donington and how it is maintained now.
