A borough-sized patch
Charnwood is more than its main town. Loughborough is the council's administrative centre and the county's second-largest settlement after Leicester, Shepshed is the second-largest town in the district, and a string of villages runs down the A6 corridor towards Leicester: Quorn, Mountsorrel, Barrow upon Soar, Sileby, Birstall, Thurmaston and Syston. An operator with vans in one place, a couple of HGVs in another and a minibus parked somewhere else has a lot of dates to keep track of. A maintenance contract hands that calendar to one team.
What goes into it
We agree the scope with each operator, but most contracts combine servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, PMI safety inspections at the intervals on your operator licence with brake performance checked every time, preparation before each annual test, mobile repairs at your premises for faults found on walkaround checks, and breakdown and recovery around the clock. Planned work is done either at our workshop at Melbourne or at your own site, whichever keeps vehicles earning.
The people who know the vehicle
The technicians who service a contract fleet are the same people who answer when one of its vehicles stops at night on the M1 or the A512. They know its history and its recurring niggles, so a repeat fault is recognised and fixed at the root instead of patched at the roadside each time.
Records you can show DVSA
Operators must keep proper maintenance records and stick to their inspection intervals. Under a contract the inspections are planned ahead, every defect is written up with what was done about it, and the file is in order when someone asks to see it. That supports your OCRS score and protects the licence.
Mixed fleets under one agreement
Contracts are not only for HGV operators. Trailers, coaches, minibuses, vans, light commercials and specialist vehicles, including emergency-service vehicles, can all sit in the same agreement. That suits a business with a mix of vans and trucks, a minibus operator, or a haulier with a handful of tractor units.
Changing provider without a gap
Moving your maintenance doesn't have to mean disruption. Tell us when each vehicle is next due for its inspection and service, share recent inspection records if you have them, and we pick up the schedule from there so nothing slips during the handover.
Getting started
Ring 01332 916028 and tell us how many vehicles you run, what they are, where in Loughborough or the wider borough they are kept, and how they are maintained now. We will suggest a plan that fits the way you work. Fleet customers are set up on account.
