Mansfield is a town of nearly 98,000 people, and for most of the twentieth century its working life revolved around coal. The pits have gone, along with the brewery and much of the textile trade, but the town still keeps plenty of commercial vehicles busy: stock for the Four Seasons centre and the retail parks at Portland and St Peter's, buses running from the station that opened in 2013, and the vehicles behind the council, the hospitals and the ambulance and fire stations.
The roads matter here because the motorway doesn't come into town. Traffic from the south leaves the M1 at junction 27 for the A608, traffic from the north and Chesterfield at junction 29 for the A617, and the A38 from junction 28 ends at Mansfield. Within the district, the A60 runs north to south between Nottingham and Worksop, and the Mansfield and Ashfield Regeneration Route carries the A617 around the town from Pleasley to Rainworth.
Mansfield is 23 miles from Derby, and our workshop is at Melbourne, south of Derby. So for Mansfield we concentrate on the services that come to the vehicle: the 24/7 breakdown and recovery line on 01332 916028, mobile repairs at your yard or the roadside, and fleet contracts. We cover the town and its neighbours, including Mansfield Woodhouse, Forest Town, Rainworth, Clipstone, Warsop, Pleasley and Sutton-in-Ashfield.
