Long Eaton sits just north of the River Trent in the Erewash borough of Derbyshire, adjoining the Nottinghamshire border and close to Leicestershire. It is about 6 miles from Nottingham city centre and 9 miles from Derby, and part of the Nottingham Urban Area, so its commercial vehicles are pulled between two cities. Junction 25 of the M1 lies on the town's north-western border at Sandiacre, where the A52 Brian Clough Way meets the motorway on its way between Derby and Nottingham. The A6005 forms the main road through the town itself.
Junction 1 of the A50 is signed for Long Eaton, Sawley, Shardlow and Castle Donington, and the same road leads to our workshop at Calke Mill Farm, Ashby Road, Melbourne, off junction 3. We cover the lot: the M1, the A52 out past Sandiacre and Stapleford, the A50, the roads around Toton Sidings and the town's own streets by the Erewash Canal, in Wilsthorpe and in Sawley.
Long Eaton grew on lace-making and railway wagon manufacturing. Whatever your vehicles carry now, when one of them stops we try to repair it where it is and recover it only when that isn't safe or possible. Planned servicing, PMI inspections, brake testing, diagnostics, coach and minibus work, and curtain and welding repairs are carried out at Melbourne, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:00. Breakdowns are taken on 01332 916028 around the clock, every day of the year.
